Registered Massage Therapist

My life has always been that of a healthcare practitioner. I was a Registered Dental Assistant for 17 years when I realized that it was a “job” I couldn’t see myself doing forever. I needed something more. 10 years ago, I took the advice of a wonderful dentist I was working for, and pursued my interest in massage therapy receiving my certificate from Mount Royal University. I have been practicing as a Registered Massage Therapist for the past 7 wonderful years.

The massage industry led me to Dr. Melanie, whom I have worked with for the past 11 years. It is Dr. Melanie who has inspired me and fostered my confidence to continue to move forward with my passion to heal. The nurturing side of me and the desire to help people make a difference in how they feel and function is what inspires me and drives me to be the best at what I do. I truly love making a difference in those who seek alternative health solutions, trusting in my knowledge and skills.

It is my hope that everyone seeks alternative health solutions here at Blessingways Family Wellness, to be the best they can be.

Educational Background

As Graduate of Trochu Valley High School, I made my way to Red Deer College in 1987, where I spent a year discovering living on my own while receiving a Certificate in Administrative Science.  I moved on to Calgary where I attended MacKay College for Dental Administration, and then enrolled and completed the NAIT Registered Dental Assistant Program.  I worked as a Dental Assistant for Several Dentists over the course of 17 years.  Although I loved what I was doing and the patients I became close to my Guides started directing me in a new direction.

In 2003 I made the decision to return to school.  For the next 3 years I attended Mount Royal University in their Complimentary Health Faculty taking Massage Therapy.  Working full time during the day as a Dental Assistant, and raising two boys with my husband, I attended class in the evenings and weekends.  As a mature student there was no room for error and I completed the program in the top 2% of my class earning a Massage Therapy Certificate.

Clinical Experience

In 2007 I received my certificate for level 1 and 2 Reiki Healing under Nina Wallinder, Learning the practice of Mikao Usui Reiki.

In 2011, after experiencing a session of CranioSacral Therapy, I began my journey into the whole body healing of CranioSacral Therapy (CST) through the Upledger Institute.  CST workshops have enlightened me to a profound healing practice for the whole body, mind and spirit, using techniques taught by Dr. John E. Upledger.

With my CST training I have completed:

  • CST Level 1 and 2
  • Somato Emotional Release Level 1 and 2
  • CST techniques for Conception, Pregnancy and Birth including fertility
  • Pediatrics Level 1
  • The Brain Speaks Level 1 and 2

Current Practice

I am a member in good standing with Natural Health Practitioners of Canada and I am 2200 hour Compliant for Insurance reimbursement.  I have many avenues not yet explored, the possibilities are endless as I continue to move forward with healing hands to the whole body, mind and spirit to everyone.

You guys are the bomb!  Lisa is amazing! I love coming to her and I wish I could come more often.   Stephanie R.

I have had sessions with Lisa for cranial to coincide with my chiro and will also be having massage sessions to come. Lisa is so lovely, there are no words. Her vibe is light and happy and she is intuitive to the very fabric of her being. You can tell that she is dedicated to her path and truly enjoys and wants to help her clients. I am so looking forward to more sessions with her!
