ABOUT US

We are celebrating 10 years in our current location

Our Beginning

Since Dr. Melanie Beingessner graduated from chiropractic college, she wanted to create a clinic for families with a focus on pregnant women, moms, and children. Once Dr. Melanie’s children were in school full time, she was able to start her own clinic, and Blessingways Family Wellness is the result.

Our first location was on Edwards Way in Airdrie, and 10 years ago we moved to our current location.

The photo to the right shows how the clinic looked the first year that we moved into the space.

10 years and 4 major renovations later, we are proud to work in this great building in Airdrie.

This is what Blessingways looked like the first year that we moved in.

The Most Asked Questions that We Receive

Why is your name Blessingways Family Wellness?

The word blessingways was chosen in homage to the Navajo blessingways ceremony, which is held for pregnant moms and honours their strength in becoming mothers. As our main focus is on pregnant moms, new moms and experienced moms, Dr. Melanie chose this name to celebrates women’s strength.

You will find at Blessingways Family Wellness that moms are our main focus for:

  • pregnancy

  • birth

  • postpartum recovery

Truthfully, we treat all family members here

Everyone has physical challenges in this world and we are happy to help everyone stand tall, breathe deep and enjoy this life of yours.

What is the story about the affirmation wall and the murals?

Our clinic is an old house that has been converted into a chiropractic clinic. We have an old garage that was a bit of an eyesore and one day, inspiration struck. Why don’t we make an affirmation mural?

So, we are proud to say that Dr. Melanie’s daughter Kayla created the affirmation wall, and her daughter Amanda and three of her friends created the murals at the back of the garage.

Here are a few pictures that were taken as the affirmation wall was made:

The Blessingways Murals

The murals were made by Amanda, Romin, Ari and Milo - 4 teen friends who were in art school together. They designed the images and painted them on boards of plywood. Once the murals were finished, they were attached to the doors of the garage:

Dr. Melanie’s Acceptance Speech at the Airdrie
Amazing Women’s Awards 2023

We are very honoured to have won the Pink Wand Amazing Workplace Award

We are including the speech that Dr. Melanie made when she accepted the award. Our team is an awesome team. We work hard to support each other, to help our patients and to give the best care that we possibly can.

This speech honours our entire team and we would like to share it with you:

Amazing Women Amazing Workplace Award Acceptance Speech

Thank you so very much for this award!  I am truly honoured to be standing here in front of this room of amazing women.

Women who run their own businesses have to be strong.  We really do.

  • We have to work hard to be taken seriously.

  • We have to speak our truth and be firm at times.

  • We have to guide our teams and find ways to grow and celebrate together.

In the healing arts, I find that women are inherently strong, kind, caring and empathic.
At Blessingways, I am very lucky as the business owner to say that our practitioners and support staff are all of those things and more.

Everyone in our organization has an important role to make sure that the running of our business and the services that we provide are the best quality possible.

As the leader, I do my best to make our life at Blessingways the best environment that it can possibly be.

To honour the needs of my people and myself, we deliberately find ways

  • To laugh

  • To have fun

  • To rest

  • And to heal

We take time to plan together - We make sure that everyone has input in decisions that affect us all
We support each other
We empower each other
We celebrate who we are and all that we bring to ourselves, to each other and to our patients.

When we honour ourselves and each other, we have more room in our hearts to help others find their balance.
I believe that when a group of talented and dedicated women come together, we can change the world.
And I feel that at Blessingways we change the world for the better every day.

I am truly proud to accept The Pink Wand Amazing Workplace Award on behalf of myself and my team

 Thank you
