Dr. Leah’s Story:

Coming from a small town in New Brunswick and going into university sciences I remember when I said I would never be a doctor. Yet, life's course took me on a nine-year journey, marked with challenges to overcome and perspectives to evolve. My point of view changed as I learned more about the impact of physical activity and holistic care and witnessing those impacts on individuals' lives.

Upon completing my Kinesiology degree at UPEI, I remained uncertain about my professional path, but I knew I wanted to help people. This led me to apply to chiropractic college. At the beginning of my journey at CMCC I hesitated, questioning if this was truly my calling. However, by the time I reached third year, a transformative moment occurred. I found myself expecting my first child and the impact of chiropractic care during my pregnancy made all the difference.

Throughout my pregnancy, I suffered severe back pain, at times making it very difficult to perform even basic tasks like walking and getting out of bed. Through consistent chiropractic care, I maintained my ability to attend school, walk, workout, and navigate daily life. As my pregnancy advanced, introducing a new set of aches and pains, chiropractic care continued to provide relief, enabling me to function optimally each week.

This transformative firsthand experience with chiropractic care ignited one of my special interests to also help support other pregnant and postpartum women, because I understand the challenge of being able to move throughout the day.

In addition to my special interests in helping pregnant and postpartum women, I have a deep-rooted passion for helping people move more easily. My objective is to help all of my patients live a pain free life and to help prevent further injuries or recurrent injuries.
